Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)
Operation of best video monitor based on CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) design. It is used for the video monitor, one electron beam will be pass from left to right for which the pictorial unit will be displayed in the monitor. The beam of the electron (cathode rays), emitted by an electron gun, passing through focusing and deflection system that direct the beam toward the specified position on the phosphor-coated screen.
The Basic functions of an individual component can be represented as follows:-
01. Electron Gun:-
A cathode surrounded by the heater coil, which is negative in charge when the heater will be heated, The electron will be produced at the end of the gun, Which will be attracted by the positive charge, phosphor That is coated in the monitor
The Electron will be flowing in a sequential manner which look like an electron beam.
02. Control electrode:-
It will control the flow of the electron. It is connected with an amplifier which will be the turn-off and on, based upon processing in the next level.
03. Focusing Electrode:-
It will help to create a clear picture by passing the electron beam in a narrow form. The job of the focusing electrode. It will extract the electromagnetic force from the electron beam.
04. Deflection Amplifier:-
It will bend the electron beam for which the electron beam will pass across the monitor in systematically approach from the top left to right bottom.
05. Phosphorus coated screen:-
In the Cathode ray tube display unit inside of the front surface. A special crystal is coated which is called phosphor, and the total screen is called phosphorus coated screen, when the high energy electron beam attack to the phosphor, the phosphor will glow for some time.
The Slowness is called “Fluorescence” The Continuity of glow off sometimes is called “phosphorescence”
The duration of “phosphorescence” is called persistence.
